She may have to jeopardize her employment to be in court to file protection orders or benefit from support groups. Lack of transportation may make resources unavailable. Disabilities, homophobia, cultural insensitivity, or racism may interfere with her benefiting from services. For immigrant women, language and culture issues can be insurmountable. If her abuser were not violent with her, this would not become an issue. |
