He has told her that he would never let her have the children. He may have beaten her down emotionally to the point that she has lost confidence in her parenting skills, and he has been undermining her as a parent with the children to reinforce the notion. He tells her regularly that she is a bad parent and that she will never win a custody dispute. Once again, this is an issue only because he is abusive and violent.
